The State Fair

Josh took the day off and we took Kathryn out of school yesterday and headed down to Dallas to the state fair. The weather was perfect and the crowds were small, it was a wonderful day!

Here are a some of the highlights from our day...

The Petting Zoo & Hands on Barn
This isn't your normal petting zoo. Children's Hospital in Dallas does this every year and it is so neat. They have a giraffe, zebra, kangaroo's and of course goats, pigs, donkey's, etc. Kathryn had so much in there. She loved the baby goats and pigs, they were so cute! The hands on learning barn walks the kids through what it would be like to work on a farm. They picked peaches, milked a cow, etc. It was a neat learning experience for Kathryn.

The Midway
This was Kathryn's favor part! She has become quite the little dare devil and wants to ride everything. Hopefully she won't be a scaredy cat like her mom! We rode and rode tons of rides. We ran out of coupons so many times, yikes, we spent too much money on these silly rides. We only live once, right?!?

So glad Grandma got to meet up with us after a 1/2 day of work!

The log ride, we did it twice! It was so much fun! Can you see the fear in Kathryn's face? She was scared, but then wanted to do it again.

Our sweet Lauren always so happy! We were on the sky ride going across the fair.
The canoe ride looked really fun to her, but once she was on she realized how slow it was. She is really liking the fast rides!


The Auto Show

Yes, this was Josh's favorite part. He loves, loves, loves cars. He was like a little kid so happy! We just let him walk around to his hearts content. He sat in so many cars and had a smile on his face the whole time!

Apparently this is Josh's dream car...a red Corvette. Who would have known?
