HaPpY 2nd BiRtHdAy DaRlA!
Today we celebrated Darla's 2nd birthday. We missed it last year and Kathryn has been disturbed about this the whole past year. She told just about anybody that would listen that we forgot all about her 1st birthday. So we knew we needed to celebrate her birthday this year. We picked a date semi close to when we knew her birthday was and put it on the calendar so we would NOT forget. Kathryn has been counting down the days all month. She really wanted to have a actual party and invite friends and their dogs, but I quickly assured her that was not going to happen. So they sang to her 5 times this morning and it was almost like Darla really enjoyed listening to them. She would just sit and watch. They had gotten her a little cupcake dog toy, thanks Target, it was perfect! Since she couldn't have real cake, we treated her with a pancake this morning and she sat at the table, yes she really did and we sang Happy Birthday to her as she devowered her 'cake'. We do love our Darla so much! She is the best dog ever! Our family wouldn't be the same without her!

Kathryn has named her 'Darla Maria' and then Lauren gave her the nickname of 'Ria'.

My kids are so anxious for our dogs' b-days this year. Callie & Idgy's b-days are a day apart so the kids want to have a big doggy b-day bash!
